Error running ldconfig

I have been trying to install for the first time and I keep running into an issue, and not sure what the problem is. Step 4 of the "How to install OpenCV 3 on Raspbian Jessie", the last thing is to run ldconfig. I keep getting this error:

/sbin/ldconfig.real: Can't create temporary cache file /etc/ld.so.cache~: Permission denied

I am still in the "cv" environment.
