2014-05-06 05:10:21 -0600 | commented answer | 2.4.9 Native Android camera S4 still doesn't work Hi jensgrubert, Additionally, I still get the bug with the opencv manager for 2.4.9 supplied with the library. Hopefully there will be a solution soon. Kind Regards, Steve |

2014-04-24 12:09:58 -0600 | asked a question | 2.4.9 Native Android camera S4 still doesn't work Hi all, The latest bug fixes in the release for OpenCV android 2.4.9 are supposed to fix the native camera for many phones. I have tried the latest release (with latest Manager) on my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone with 4.4 KitKat and am still getting the same errors as before. Fatal signal 11 (SIGSEGV) at 0x00000000 (code=1), thread 12687 (.NativeActivity) I have tried compiling with static libraries also but this makes no difference. I was testing on both the NativeActivity and CameraPreview (which works in java only). Has anybody had any luck with this new version of openCV on android? Or perhaps I have still missed something. Alexander Smorkalov has checked off bug reports on Galaxy S3 and Note3 which you would think were very similar, and this fix is supposed to be one of the big fixes for this android version http://code.opencv.org/projects/opencv/wiki/ChangeLog This fault is driving me crazy! Any help would be very much appreciated. Kind Regards, Steve |
2014-04-24 10:17:29 -0600 | commented question | 2.4.9 estimated release As mada said, 2.4.9 has indeed been released and can be downloaded at http://sourceforge.net/projects/opencvlibrary/files/ Thanks mada! P.S. i tried answering my own question but it says new users must wait 2 days. |
2014-04-24 10:07:28 -0600 | commented question | 2.4.9 estimated release hmmm - they must be closer to releasing than i assumed then! There is no download available yet at http://opencv.org/downloads.html and the roadmap still has many open issues (currently at 61% complete). |
2014-04-24 09:23:43 -0600 | asked a question | 2.4.9 estimated release I am looking to use the 2.4.9 opencv release specifically for android due to the important bug fixes preventing me from using 2.4.8. I see the release date has been missed by quite a way but I saw it mentioned in another thread that 2.4.9 may be coming soon. Does anyone know when we may expect the official release of this version, or should I go ahead and try to compile it myself in the meantime? Kind Regards, Steve |
