fitellipse not for image but given points

Hello everyone, I want to fit an ellipse to given points in Python. The points are:

x_vals = np.array([cos(0.1 * i) for i in range(30)])
y_vals = np.array([sin(0.1 * i) for i in range(30)])

I tried to make a numpy array of the points:

Points = [(x_vals[i], y_vals[i]) for i in range(len(x_vals))]
cv2.fitEllipse(np.array(points))

But unfortunately it gives me an error :( can anyone help?
