I make experiment about eye detection for night condition. I'm using IR webcam to get the face, but it still needs lots of light from LED to show the face. After all, although the face is detected. The detection process for eyes sometimes fail because it's really hard to detect. Do you have some suggestion how to detect eyes in the dark?

Basically, the fact if you detect the eyes or not, depend on the amount of information and variation that is contained into the eye. Probably using IR camera's will yield way to less information to correctly detect several eye features.
You could try to use more heavy large resolution capturing devices, and then perform some histogram equalization techniques to counter for the illumination and to make an evenly spread intensity spectrum. But still, it will be hard to get decent results I am guessing.
It depends on the result you get after equalization. You should check the equalizeHist functionality in the documents, which does exactly what you would like. Indeed, more light could solve your problem, however, get lots of IR light, requires expensive IR LED devices, which won't be a cheap solution.
