Windows XP 32 VS 2008 library date 4/7/2012 OpenCV v2.4.2 documentation

I am using the static library, sample code and sample images to perform a template matching procedure using the OpenCV function 'matchTemplate'. It is not working; I am not getting the same results as shown in the tutorial Please advise.
