Would it be possible to use Open CV technology to detect different types of vehicles circulating in an underground mine? Would it also be possible to detect direction? Can the techology be used to detect individuals and if so how could we identify the identity of the people (miner)being scanned by the technology. The idea is to pair vehicle detection with a vehicle library so that we will know what types of vehicles have entered a particular mining block.

Any insight or thoughts on if this already exists or could be developed I would be interested in discussing.
