Mongoose's profile - activity

I had OpenCV compiling and running ok on my home mac-mini. But I am on the road with only the laptop right now. I can not get OpenCV to compile on my latop OSX 10.6.8 But it compiles ok it seems on a VPS running Ubuntu Linux.

Is it crazy to try to run it via ssh? Has that been done?

Or should I just go buy a low end computer I can put Linux and OpenCV on?
