Overview: Chicagoland, 50-60hr, 6month contract.
Currently, I am working exclusively with a consumer products manufacturer as they are looking to expand their software team.
This engineer will be located in their Advanced Development group which works on R&D and prototyping for future products 2-5 years down the road. This will determine feasibility of emerging and new technology.
This contractor will be developing a computer vision / video analytics application. To simplify it, the company is adding a video camera to it's motion detection system and this engineer will be writing software for its analytics application (think movement detection, face / people recognition, etc.). This is also a part of a mobile app.
Responsibilities:
- Develop OpenCV based applications in C++
- Develop applications in a embedded linux environment
- Analyze, debug, and resolve defects
- Perform bench unit tests
- Work within agile development process
- Help reduce work requirements to design specifications
- Experience with MQTT (messaging protocol) is a plus
- Experience with GIT is a plus
