Removing vertical lines not working

Hello. I've followed this tutorial extract horizontal and vertical lines, and while it worked for the music image, it is not working for any other image. Using the same code, the input image becomes a white page with some vertical lines.

@anesthetic what do you want to achieve? If you follow the tutorial as it is, it is normal that you get this output since it removes all horizontal lines (words are also recognized as horizontal lines). You can check these threads here, here, here and here. All share more or less the same principle as the tutorial, which comes from this thread.
