build modules from open_cv_contrib

i am trying to install opencv 2.4.12 to see if i can obtain the sift libraries that i think are not present in opencv 3.1.0

i do not understand from this webpage http://docs.opencv.org/3.1.0/d7/d9f/t...

how do i build the other modules from opencv_contrib

i hope this information will be useful ( tested for OpenCV 3.1)

to build with modules from opencv_contrib
set OPENCV_EXTRA_MODULES_PATH to <path to opencv_contrib/modules/>

I do this and find the contrib,and generated, builded, then installed. In the end, there is no dll or lib for contrib, only include folder. What should it happend?
