OpenCV 3.0 python replacement for CalcEMD2?

I cannot seem to find a python example of CalcEMD2 under OpenCV 3.0 or an equivalent way to approach for comparison of image histograms using EMD. I'm new to OpenCV so my apologies if i missed this in the documentation or FAQ. (FWIW I'm also looking at using EMD for contour comparison.)
