When calculating the zernike moment of an image to use as feature descriptor, what should be the values of n and m ? It is written that n is the order and m is the repetition, but how to know(or optimise) their values? Can anyone explain their meaning?

I am an expert of Zernike moment application for image processing in Japan. I guess these 2 parameters means; n : order of moments m : degree of repetition.

If you visualize Zernike polynomial (weight function for moment calculation), Order of Zernike polynomials are related to the number of concentric circular division and degree of repetition are related to the number of circular sectors.

I have read that n is the order and m is the repetition. But for an image what would be the values of n and m? I have a function for calculating zernike moment that takes in an image and values of n and m. I pass both values as 0. But the answer comes out to be Nan for some cases. So I want to know what values should I pass. Thanks.

I got the mistake in my code. Thanks anyway.
