OpenCV faster with intense 3D benchmark active at same time??

I made a OpenCV GPU based tracking software, and it's working fine. But I'm very surprised because I see that when I run a graphics benchmark Unigine (an intense 3D graphic app for benchmarking) in parallel with my app, not only my app still works ok.... but runs faster! Without Unigine running, my app takes aprox. 11-15 ms per frame... but with Unigine running the time goes down to 6-7 ms: it's faster!!
Anybody see the same effect? How is this possible??
