How to detect the missing part on electronic board

Hello, Now I have the project to detect the missing component on electronic board compare with sample board. The first I will take the picture of sample board from camera. After that I will draw the ROI on some component which need to detect. ===> Pls support me how to detect the missing component in the ROI when we check another electronic board compare with sample board. Can you give me some example code or your project. Thanks million.

Hi, If everything is exactly the same and with the same illumination and exact localization, you could simply take the difference between the two ROI to check the missing part. Only if you show some examples we can help/suggest some solutions, otherwise our answers would be blind.
