matchTemplate gives wrong result when object does not exist in image. Can I get any help with thanks in advance, please?

Wrong in what way? Is your template color balanced? what method? is it normalized?

I have same problem. I'm using Canny edge detector, COLOR_BGR2GRAY and TM_CCOEFF_NORMED. But it always finds a match.
