Difference in distribution (master branch(2.4.9) and 2.4.6) [closed]

Dear all,

A number of new modules related to GPU support are added in master branch (2.4.69)at https://github.com/apavlenko/opencv . These modules are missing in 2.4 branch of OpenCV.

Are these new modules tested or are being tested? When is new release expected

  • you probably should look at the itseez repo instead.
  • the master branch is 3.0 now, new modules are probably merged into the stable 2.4 branch when they seem to fit.
  • yes, they are tested

Just to add to @berak his remark. It was anounced that they are planning somewhere around february to launch towards the 3.0 state if I am correct. This will indeed create a complete new structure in the software and modules, but it will make it more clean and universal to use.

True :) But we can only hope the new interface will be standard soon. Don't feel like adapting my software too much :D So better use correct basics at once.
