How to set a duration time for a detected object ?

I am detecting road signs with an xml file using my webcam and it detects corretly the road signs for the whole time but it also detects some wrong spots for like 1 seconde.

I want to write a code that says if the detection lasts more than 2 secondes than draw a rectangle to the correct object detected.
