Zoom lenses to calibrate

Hi there, I have been using fixed (prime) lenses so far for chess board calibration and aruco marker detection. Question: is it possible to use the zoom lenses and calibrate it to get intrinsic matrix and distortion. if yes, Would appreciate details,
