BSD license and source sharing

asked Oct 21 '13

Hi We want to use OpenCV in our mobile apps. We want to use the libraries without any modifications for purposes such as image filtering, face detection etc.

Does the BSD license on OpenCV means that we have to share our source code ? We may potentially want to sell our app as well.

Does a BSD restrict us in any case?

"OpenCV is released under a BSD license and hence it’s free for both academic and commercial use" Already mentioned on the front page: http://opencv.org/

The only thing you wont be allowed to use without permission/license purchase are the nonfree modules SIFT and SURF.
