Simple Counting Hor/Ver Lines
Before I go down too wrong a path, what is the recommended filter combination for counting the vertical and horizontal lines in this image? Future images may not be square and may need aspect transformation. I've looked at Canny and Sobel, but neither are giving great results in my initial tries.
Have you tried binarization (otsu) + houghLines ?
