Hi, I work at the IT dept. of a small mining company and while looking for more affordable alternatives to rock particle (size differentiate) detection SW like Wipfrag, I just learned of OpenCV.
Is it possible to use OpenCV to detect the different size of rocks, pebbles etc., in a muck pile of rubble, like after a blast? Of course since me and my team are very new to OpenCV, we'll need time to learn it better, but hopefully OpenCV will open up some good possibilities.

opencv is a library. IF you're willing to learn about computer-vision, and learn how to write your own program, it might be helpful, but somehow you sound, as if you're lightyears away from that, and expect a "ready made program for your purpose", which won't happen.

Sure, free and easy is never bad, but that wasn't my intention. Thankfully my development team has guys experienced in C++(me) & Python & Java, so we'll see how it goes. =)
