how to detect iron buckle bar length

hi there, i am working on one quality control project using opencv c++ and i am not very good with opencv. so i need to accept and reject iron buckle if iron buckle bar length less then or grater then standard length or space between bar also matter, so how can i find the length of both bar and distance between bars?
