Facial classification/prediction with OpenCV

asked 2019-04-05 06:57:59 -0600

We are thinking of using an OpenCV framework to help us with our POS application to add age/gender recognition to our camera feed, and OpenCV seems to have the way to train a model to perform this kind of classification. However when we tried to do that, the results come out very imprecise. Are there any ready-made plugins for it, or anything built on top of OpenCV that would give us this classification ability? Open source is preferable, but if something is available commercially but inexpensive is also fine

There are a lot of solutions available based on OpenCV, most of everything that is designed for visual processing is build on that. You may want to check out Caffe DL framework's model zoo, they have some ready-made models for facial prediction, they may not be too precise though. You can also go with something commercial, my company tried CTS Surveyor (http://caerustech-solutions.com/surve...) and MoodMe (http://www.moodme.com/) - the first one you can haggle with regarding the prices, you may get a good deal
