How to calculate the gross direction for each region or block in an image?
For the purpose of enhancement of a fingerprint image, I want to reconnect the cut ridges. So I need to get the direction of each ridge. Please can anyone help me to calculate the gross direction for each region or block in the fingerprint image?
The second image is an example for what I need to do.
