Generic calibration for 90 degree FOV camera

Are there generic calibration values for cameras with different FOVs? I'm looking for something that's reasonably close for a 90 degree sensor.

Specifically I'm trying to do some analysis on a 32x32 IR sensor with a 90 degree FOV. The checkboard pattern won't work for obvious reasons (I've thought about ways of creating a thermal checkerboard, but given the low resolution and high noise I don't know how useful that will be).

As you can see from the screenshot there is some clear distortion around the edges:

I don't need the calibration to be perfect, but it would be nice to get close.
