Why is there no mention of any research paper linked to the StereoBM implementation of OpenCV?

I am looking for any link or source, explaining the internal implementation of OpenCV StereoBM.

It actually isn't any code related to a publication. As seen in the source code, the code was contributed by Kurt Konolige, and probably based on the concepts described in this paper
