Detection of the ceiling lighting shape

Hello,

I'm new to openCV. I'm looking for a solution for the mobile phone front camera to detect which kind of lighting they have in their ceilings. I'm sure openCV is going to help me to achieve that. The theory is that the images on the ceiling are relatively simple, and the brightness of the lighting is strong so that it should be much whiter than elsewhere, so if I segment that out I should be able to get a shape. Can you tell me where I shall start with openCV in order to get there?

Thanks

If you're totally at a loss for where to start with OpenCV, I can tell you where to start. The tutorials HERE. By the time you read through these and try them out, you will have a good understanding of OpenCV and how to use it. You might even get ideas for your project along the way.

If it's the project, then I'm afraid we can't. Normally I'd talk about how that's a really general question and there are many ways of doing it, so why don't you do some research and find a good one, try it, and we'll help when you have trouble. In this case, I can't even tell what you're trying to do. You're trying to identify types of light bulbs? Fixtures? Incandescent vs LED vs Fluorescent?
