Lots. There are a number of ways to do the problem. The first step is to pick the one you want to do. Take a look HERE in the Academic Page section. There are links to all kinds of Computer Vision papers. Look through them and find the shadow removal that best matches what you want to do and try to either implement that, or find where someone else has implemented that and shared the code.
If you provided more details, and maybe a sample image we could probably help more. What have you already tried? Are you in a well-lit studio with a totally white background or is your camera on a drone flying through the forest? The one is easier than the other after all.
