For my application I have moved on to using OpenCV's triangulatePoints function. I did have some more success with my disparity map after refocusing the cameras, and performing calibration while capturing images that covered my entire capture volume. Overall, what I found was that calibration of intrinsic/extrinsic parameters is where most of the error was coming from.
