I am trying to run the following python script to capture video from my webcam:

import numpy as np
import cv2

cap = cv2.VideoCapture(0)

while(True):
    # Capture frame-by-frame
    ret, frame = cap.read()

    # Our operations on the frame come here
    gray = cv2.cvtColor(frame, cv2.COLOR_BGR2GRAY)

    # Display the resulting frame
    cv2.imshow('frame',gray)
    if cv2.waitKey(1) & 0xFF == ord('q'):
        break

# When everything done, release the capture
cap.release()
cv2.destroyAllWindows()

I have tried, seemingly, everything the internet has to offer.

lsmod
rmmod uvcvideo
modprobe uvcvideo nodrop=1 timeout=5000

I downloaded lxde for X windows.

I cannot seem to get rid of the select time out.

I am using a Beaglebone Green Wireless Linux beaglebone 4.4.36-ti-r71 #1 SMP Sun Dec 4 02:56:26 UTC 2016 armv7l GNU/Linux Distributor ID: Debian Description: Debian GNU/Linux 8.6 (jessie) Release: 8.6 Codename: jessie

I am using opencv 3.1.0

I haven't asked a lot of questions on forums so I'm not sure all the information I need. Let me know anymore information we need.

I am trying to use a AW355 webcam and it is recognized when using: lsusb

Thanks!
